She’ll also fill us in on what is hot in the décor world and trends to look for in the next year.
Abby Hughes grew up as a farm girl in Waseca. She attended the University of St. Thomas for Public Relations and Spanish and after college found success in the finance industry. Although she grew up on the show floor of Suburban Furniture, her love of design did not surface until she bought her first house in Minneapolis, a complete fixer-upper, at the age of 23. One unsuspecting husband and three surprising children later, she found herself gravitating back to Waseca. With three young kids in school, she is taking the reins of a third-generation family business, Suburban Furniture and Flooring. She strives to bring a fresh perspective, energy and new ideas to the store.
